Seamless steel pipe blank perforation process

The seamless steel pipe blank perforation process is one of the most important links in the manufacture of seamless steel pipes, which determines the structure and quality of the pipe. Through this process, the solid steel billet undergoes a series of complex physical processing processes and is transformed into a hollow tube with a hollow structure, forming the basis for the production of seamless steel pipes.

Perforation process flow

1. Billet heating: The billet needs to be heated in a heating furnace to a high temperature state suitable for perforation, usually around 1200°C. The uniformity of temperature ensures that the billet will not crack or break during the subsequent perforation process.

2. Perforation operation: The heated billet is formed into a hollow tube in the perforator through the pressure of the roller and the penetration of the perforation needle. This step has high requirements for the equipment, and the perforation speed, pressure and needle stability affect the quality of the final tube.

3. Sizing and expansion: The perforated tube needs to be further adjusted in size through sizing and expansion processes to ensure the roundness and wall thickness uniformity of the tube.

4. Cooling and cutting: After the rough tube is cooled, it is cut and enters the subsequent finishing process.

In short, the perforation process of seamless steel pipe blank is the core link in the production of seamless steel pipe, and its technical level directly determines the quality and performance of the product.
