ASTM A335 alloy steel seamless pipe
ASTM A335 is a standard for high-temperature alloy steel seamless pipes. Due to its excellent high-temperature resistance and compressive strength, it is widely used in pipeline systems in the fields of oil, natural gas, chemical industry, and electric power.
The manufacturing process of ASTM A335 alloy steel seamless pipe includes two main methods: hot rolling and cold drawing:
1. Hot rolling process: The steel is rolled into shape at high temperature, which is suitable for larger diameter and thick-walled pipes. The process is simple and the production efficiency is high.
2. Cold drawing process: Drawing and forming at low temperature can make the pipe size more accurate and the surface finish better. It is often used for small diameter and thin-walled pipes.
Common grades and specifications:
Grade | Chemical composition (%) | Yield strength (MPa) | Tensile strength (MPa) | Applicable temperature range (℃) |
P1 | C: ≤0.10 | ≥205 | ≥415 | 400-540 |
P5 | Cr: 4.00-6.00 | ≥205 | ≥415 | 500-600 |
P9 | Cr: 8.00-10.00 | ≥205 | ≥415 | 540-650 |
P11 | Cr: 1.00-1.50 | ≥205 | ≥415 | 550-650 |
P22 | Cr: 1.90-2.60 | ≥205 | ≥415 | 600-700 |
P91 | Cr: 8.00-9.50 | ≥415 | ≥585 | 650-750 |
Main features:
1. High temperature resistance: ASTM A335 alloy steel seamless pipe still has stable mechanical properties under high temperature environment, suitable for high temperature and high pressure scenes such as boilers and heat exchangers.
2. Corrosion resistance: It has strong corrosion resistance and effectively resists oxidation and other corrosive environments.
3. High strength: By adding chromium and molybdenum elements, the material strength is improved to maintain excellent mechanical properties and ductility under high pressure conditions.
