Do you know about black steel pipes?

Black steel pipe is a steel pipe without surface coating. It is usually made of constant quality black round steel and processed through multiple processes. There is no treatment on its surface, giving it a black or dark gray appearance, so it is called black steel pipe. Black steel pipe has high strength and toughness and is widely used in construction, machinery manufacturing, petrochemical industry and other fields.

The manufacturing methods of black steel pipes mainly include cold rolling, hot rolling and electric heating gas heating welding. These manufacturing methods make the surface of the black steel pipe smooth, the joints are tight, and the accuracy of the inner and outer diameters is not much different. At the same time, the surface of the black steel pipe will also be spray-painted to improve its service life and decorativeness. Common coatings include black paint, coal tar asphalt paint, etc. These coatings can prevent rust, enhance the surface hardness of steel pipes, and serve as decoration.

There are various types of black steel pipes, including welded steel pipes, seamless steel pipes, hot-rolled steel pipes and cold-drawn steel pipes, etc. Each steel pipe has its own unique characteristics and uses. For example, welded steel pipes have a simple process, high production efficiency, and a wide range of sizes; seamless steel pipes have smooth internal and external surfaces and high dimensional accuracy, and are suitable for transportation under high pressure, high temperature or low temperature; hot-rolled steel pipes are usually used for water pipes, natural gas pipes, etc. fields; cold drawn steel pipes are suitable for high-precision industrial equipment.

There are many specifications and models of black steel pipes, the common ones are 48, 51, 57 and other specifications, and the lengths are also available in 2 meters, 2.5 meters, 3 meters, 4 meters and so on.

However, the disadvantage of black steel pipes is that the surface is rough and prone to rust, especially in environments with high humidity. Therefore, although black steel pipe is cheaper, other types of steel pipe, such as galvanized pipe, may need to be considered in applications requiring high corrosion resistance.
