ASTM A312 stainless steel pipe
ASTM A312 is a standard developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) for seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel pipes, specifically for pipelines used for high-temperature, corrosive liquids and gases.
Standard | ASTM A312 |
Material | TP304 (austenitic stainless steel) |
Type | Seamless pipe, welded pipe |
Main Application | Transport of liquids and gases in high temperature and corrosive environments |
Maximum Operating Temperature | 870°C |
Chemical composition of TP304 stainless steel:
Cr | Ni | C | Mn | Si | P | S |
18.0-20.0 | 8.0-10.5 | ≤0.08 | ≤2.00 | ≤1.00 | ≤0.045 | ≤0.030 |
This chemical composition gives TP304 stainless steel pipe excellent corrosion resistance, especially in humid and acidic environments. In addition, TP304 stainless steel has excellent oxidation resistance and can be used for a long time at temperatures up to 870°C.
Mechanical properties of TP304 stainless steel pipe:
Tensile strength (MPa) | Yield strength (MPa) | Elongation (%) | Hardness (HB) |
≥515 | ≥205 | ≥35 | ≤201 |
Sizes and Models
ASTM A312 TP304 stainless steel pipes have a wide range of sizes and models to meet a variety of industrial needs. The following table shows the common specification ranges:
Parameters | Range |
Outer Diameter (OD) | 6mm to 1200mm |
Wall Thickness (WT) | 1mm to 50mm |
Length | Fixed length (6m, 12m) or customized |
Tolerance Range | OD: ±0.5% or ±0.15mm, WT: ±10% |
Different specifications and models can be customized according to actual application scenarios and customer needs, especially for industrial applications in high pressure and high temperature environments.
