Differences between steel coils and steel strips

Steel coils and steel strips have some differences in form and use:

1. Differences in form

Steel coils: are round rolls of steel plates, usually produced by hot rolling or cold rolling processes, and can be wider. Steel coils are more convenient to transport and store, and are often used to manufacture large products.

Steel strips: usually refer to steel with a smaller width, and the narrower steel coils obtained after further processing. The width of the steel strip is usually small, and the thickness can be very thin, which is suitable for the production of small parts or for precision machining.

2. Differences in application fields

Steel coils: are mainly used in large industrial fields such as construction, shipbuilding, and machinery manufacturing, and are also used to manufacture various steel plate products.

Steel strips: are widely used in hardware tools, auto parts, household appliances, packaging materials and other fields, especially in places where high precision and high strength are required.

In general, steel coils are more suitable for large-scale applications, while steel strips are mostly used for products that require precision machining.
