JIS G3454 Standard Specification

JIS G3454 is a specification in Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS), mainly involving carbon steel pipes for pressure piping.

1. Scope of application

JIS G3454 applies to carbon steel pipes with a nominal diameter of 10.5 mm to 660.4 mm, used to transport fluids with temperatures between -10°C and 350°C and pressures between 0.5 MPa and 5.9 MPa.

2. Materials

The materials of carbon steel pipes should meet the composition and mechanical property requirements specified in the JIS G3454 standard. Commonly used steels include STPG 370 and STPG 410.

3. Manufacturing method

Carbon steel pipes can be manufactured by seamless process or electric resistance welding (ERW) process. Seamless pipes are produced by hot rolling or cold drawing, while welded pipes are produced by electric resistance welding process.
