How to check the quality of SSAW pipe from appearance

The quality of spiral steel pipe can be inspected from the appearance through the following aspects:

1. Surface inspection: observe whether there are cracks, wrinkles, scratches, dents and rust on the surface of the steel pipe, and pay special attention to whether the weld is uniform and smooth, and there is no leakage and false welding.

2. Dimension measurement: use measuring tools to measure the outer diameter and wall thickness to check whether it meets the standard requirements, measure the diameter in different directions to check the ovality, and measure whether the length of the steel pipe meets the specifications.

3. End face inspection: check whether the cuts at both ends of the steel pipe are flat, free of burrs and cracks, and ensure that the end face is perpendicular to the axis of the steel pipe.

4. Anti-corrosion layer inspection: observe whether the anti-corrosion layers inside and outside the steel pipe are intact, without damage or falling off.

5. Marking and labeling: confirm whether there are clear production markings and labeling information on the surface of the steel pipe to ensure that it is consistent with the actual specifications.

Through the above appearance inspection, it can be preliminarily judged whether the quality of the spiral steel pipe meets the requirements. However, in order to more accurately evaluate the performance of the steel pipe, professional mechanical properties and chemical composition analysis tests are also required.
