Common steel materials

Carbon structural steel: This is the most basic type of steel. According to the carbon content, it can be divided into low carbon steel (less than 0.25%), medium carbon steel (0.25% to 0.6%) and high carbon steel (more than 0.6%). This type of steel is mainly used to manufacture mechanical parts and engineering structures.

Alloy structural steel: On the basis of carbon structural steel, one or more alloying elements (such as Cr, Ni, Mo, V, etc.) are added to improve the strength, toughness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and other properties of steel. It is widely used in high-strength fields such as automobiles, ships, aircraft, bridges, etc.

Stainless steel: A type of steel that has the ability to resist corrosion from air, water, acid, alkali, salt or other media. The main alloying element is Cr, and the general content is above 13%. According to the organizational state, it can be divided into austenitic stainless steel, ferritic stainless steel, martensitic stainless steel, etc., and is widely used in food industry, medical equipment, chemical equipment and other fields.

In addition to the above three common materials, there are some other steels. For example, ferrite-bainite dual-phase steel with high strength and high toughness, low-alloy high-strength steel with excellent toughness and impact resistance, and tool steel with wear resistance, compression resistance, and high temperature resistance.

In general, steel, as an important metal material, needs to choose the corresponding material in different application scenarios.
