The difference between cold drawn pipe and cold rolled pipe

There are obvious differences in the manufacturing process and physical properties between cold-drawn pipes and cold-rolled pipes.

Production process:

Cold-rolled pipes: pipes made by using cold-rolling technology to process hot-rolled coils or steel plates through multiple passes of rolling, drawing, diameter expansion, diameter reduction, straightening and other processes.

Cold drawn pipe: Through the cold drawing process, hot rolled pipe or cold rolled pipe is drawn in a cold drawing machine to obtain higher dimensional accuracy and surface quality.

Physical properties:

Cold-rolled pipe: Although it has higher surface finish and dimensional accuracy, its surface quality and internal structure may be slightly inferior to cold-drawn pipe.

Cold-drawn pipe: The surface is smoother than cold-rolled pipe, the internal structure is denser, and the surface quality is higher. In addition, cold drawn tubes offer greater dimensional accuracy, more uniform wall thickness, and better dimensional stability.

The choice of tubing depends on the specific application needs and conditions.
