What material are carbon steel pipes made of?

Carbon steel pipes are mainly alloy steel pipes composed of two elements: carbon and iron. It is made of solid round steel or steel ingots as raw materials, perforated into capillary tubes, and then further processed through hot rolling or cold drawing technology.

According to the different carbon content, carbon steel pipes are divided into three types: high, medium and low. These different types of carbon steel pipes vary in performance and range of uses.

High carbon steel pipes have the highest carbon content, generally greater than 0.6%, so high carbon steel pipes are generally not used in industrial production. Medium carbon steel pipes are generally 0.25~0.6%. This type of steel pipe has moderate hardness and is widely used. Low carbon steel pipes contain less than 0.25% carbon and are more common in industrial applications.

When selecting carbon steel pipes, the appropriate type and specification need to be determined based on specific engineering needs, usage environment, and required mechanical properties. At the same time, the quality and service life of carbon steel pipes are also closely related to the quality of its manufacturing process and raw materials, so it is also very important to choose high-quality carbon steel pipes produced by regular manufacturers.
