2205 Duplex Stainless Steel
What are duplex stainless steels?
The ideal structure of duplex stainless steels is 50% austenite and 50% ferrite, and it also has the advantages of austenitic stainless steel and ferritic stainless steel. Duplex stainless steel is magnetic. It has the characteristics of both stainless steel and carbon steel. In this issue we mainly introduce 2205 duplex stainless steel.
2205 duplex stainless steel is an austenitic ferrite duplex stainless steel composed of 22% Cr, 2.5% Mo, and 4.5% nickel-nitrogen alloy. It combines ferrite and austenite. advantages, and have been enhanced and upgraded on top of them.
Advantages of 2205 duplex stainless steels
The main feature of 2205 duplex stainless steels is that the yield strength is twice that of ordinary austenitic stainless steel, reaching 400-550mpa, which can reduce weight and save materials. 2205 duplex stainless steel has a price advantage over 316 and 317 stainless steel, reducing manufacturing costs. 2205 duplex stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance and can resist corrosion from corrosive media such as acids, alkalis, salts, water and chlorides. It is especially suitable for use in marine environments and under high temperature and high pressure conditions.
