The difference between stainless steel welded pipe and seamless pipe
The difference between stainless steel welded pipes and seamless pipes is mainly reflected in the following aspects:
1. Differences in process
Stainless steel welded pipe is made of steel strips that are crimped and welded. Seamless pipes are made by perforating steel billets or solid tube blanks and processing them by hot rolling or cold rolling. Therefore, the price of stainless steel seamless pipes is slightly higher than that of welded pipes.
2. Appearance and precision: The steel pipe of stainless steel welded pipe has high precision, uniform wall thickness, high brightness on the inner and outer surfaces of the pipe, and can be made into thin-walled pipes. The precision of seamless steel pipes is relatively low, the wall thickness is uneven, the brightness of the inner and outer surfaces of the pipe is low, and the cost of cutting to length is high.
3. Performance: Seamless pipes are usually better than stainless steel welded pipes in corrosion resistance, pressure bearing capacity and high temperature resistance. However, with the improvement of welded pipe manufacturing technology, its mechanical properties and mechanical properties are gradually approaching that of seamless pipes.
4. Application fields: Seamless pipes are generally used in fluid transportation that need to withstand high pressure, high temperature and other special environments, such as oil, natural gas, etc. Stainless steel welded pipes are more commonly used for low-pressure fluid transportation, such as decorative pipes, pillar pipes, etc., and are used to transport water, oil, gas, air and other generally low-pressure fluids.
