The effect of oiling stainless steel

Oiling stainless steel is to apply a layer of anti-corrosion oil, which is a surface treatment method. Stainless steel anti-corrosion oil is an oil system with high anti-corrosion performance and strong adhesion. It does not contain formaldehyde, benzene, heavy metals and other harmful substances, and is conducive to environmental protection.

Waterproofing of oiled stainless steel

Oiling stainless steel can provide waterproofing to a certain extent. The protective film formed on the surface of stainless steel can prevent liquids such as water and oil from penetrating into the surface of stainless steel, thus protecting the surface of stainless steel from erosion and damage by liquids.

It should be noted that stainless steel is not completely waterproof if it is oiled. If the protective film formed on the stainless steel surface does not cover the entire surface, or there are cracks, wear and other defects on the stainless steel surface, the liquid will still penetrate into the stainless steel surface, causing corrosion and damage to the stainless steel surface.

Therefore, if strict waterproofing is required, other waterproofing measures, such as sealing, coating, etc., must also be taken.
