How to identify the quality of copper pipes?

Identifying the quality of copper pipes is a very important step when purchasing and using copper pipes. Good quality copper pipes not only have stable performance and long service life, but also ensure safety and reliability. So, how to identify the quality of copper pipes?

1. Observe the surface

The first step to determine the quality of a copper pipe is to look at the internal and external surfaces of the copper pipe. It should usually be smooth, burr-free, oxidized, and crack-free. There should be no scratches, dents, obvious ring marks and other defects on the inner surface. You can touch the surface of the copper pipe with your hands to feel if there are any unevenness or burrs.

2.Measure size

Whether the size of the copper pipe meets the standards is also an important factor in judging its quality. It is necessary to understand the specifications and standards of copper pipes and use calipers or vernier calipers to measure the diameter, thickness and wall thickness of copper pipes. If the size deviation is large, it may mean there is a problem with the quality.

3. Check the workmanship

Check whether the welding, cutting and bending processes of copper pipes are qualified. Observe whether the welding joint is flat, free of bulges and bubbles, whether the cutting is neat, and whether the bending is smooth. These can be judged by visual and tactile inspection.

4. Check the extensibility

A high-quality copper pipe should have good extensibility. You can draw a deep line on the copper pipe. If the color of the inner and outer walls is consistent, it indicates that the overall quality is higher. If color or other aspects differ, other substances may be present.
