What is the difference between spiral steel pipes and steel coil pipes?
Spiral steel pipes and steel plate coils are both welded steel pipes, and there are significant differences in their production processes.
Spiral steel pipe is a spiral seam steel pipe made from rolled steel strip as raw material, often formed by warm extrusion, and welded using an automatic double wire double-sided submerged arc welding process. The length of the spiral steel pipe is 12 meters per piece, and delivery is settled using a measuring ruler. The specifications are generally above 219mm.
The steel plate coil adopts the T-shaped welding process, which can produce steel pipes with a diameter of over 400 and a wall thickness of 8-100mm. Usually, sizing is not carried out, and delivery is usually done by weighing. Widely used in petroleum, chemical, natural gas transportation, pile driving, urban water supply, heating, gas supply and other projects.
The price of steel coil pipes of the same model is higher than that of spiral steel pipes.
The spiral steel pipe itself has no limit on its service life, which is mainly related to the operating environment and production process.
