ShanSteel Group Successfully Develops European Standard Light-Thin Series H-Beams
Shandong Iron and Steel Group's Section Steel Plant has recently successfully developed a series of lightweight thin-walled H-beams conforming to European standards, including HE180AA, IPE240A, IPE270A, and IPE300A. These products achieved successful trial production in a single attempt on the plant's medium-sized production line. Testing confirmed that all product specifications, including dimensional accuracy and surface quality, meet customer requirements. This marks Shandong Iron and Steel's first successful batch production of European standard H-beams on this line, representing a new breakthrough in structural steel production capacity.
These lightweight H-beams are custom-made products. Due to their thin flanges and high rolling difficulty, production is prone to quality defects such as head skewing, web waviness, and web perforation, demanding extremely stringent process control. To ensure successful rolling, the workshop organized multiple specialized workshops prior to trial production, comprehensively assessing equipment reliability and optimizing production organization models and process parameters. Through iterative adjustments to critical process parameters, enhanced equipment precision, refined BD rolling procedures and finishing programs, precise dimensional control requirements were established. A scientifically grounded rolling adjustment plan and meticulous production schedule were formulated. During production, core rolling mill personnel provided continuous monitoring, tracking process parameters and adjustment statuses in real time to ensure stable rolling and product compliance.
The section steel plant consistently pursues a development path focused on high-end and premium products, driving high-quality section steel supply through breakthroughs in key technologies. Facing current market pressures, the plant prioritizes customer needs and maximizing gross profit margins to continuously advance product innovation. Moving forward, it will leverage the development of new foreign-standard section steel products to better respond to customers' personalized and differentiated demands, further enhancing market competitiveness and share.
