Yangtze Steel Group Successfully Completes Stage 2 On-site Audit for ISO Re-certification

Recently, an audit team from the certification body conducted an on-site assessment for the Stage 2 audit of our company' s ISO quality management system (QMS) recertification. Having successfully completed the Stage 1 audit, we moved into this second phase, which focused on verifying the operational effectiveness of our QMS within our actual business activities. Through methods such as sampling business records, interviewing personnel in key roles, and observing on-site operations, the audit team systematically examined the execution of processes across all critical stages of our steel trading business. Throughout the process, our company' s management and business teams provided full cooperation.

Unlike the first phase, which focused on the preparation of documentation, the second phase of the audit placed greater emphasis on whether the manageme

nt system has been effectively implemented in practice. The audit team examined core processes—including order review, supplier evaluation, traceability (from heat number to quality certificate), the handling of non-conforming products, and the resolution of customer complaints—by cross-referencing actual business documents with system records to verify that operations at each stage align with the requirements set out in the system documentation. Furthermore, the audit team assessed the effectiveness of corrective actions, as well as the follow-up and implementation of outcomes from internal audits and management reviews, to determine whether the company' s quality management system possesses the capacity for continuous improvement.

During the audit, our various departments provided truthful explanations and timely supporting evidence in response to the audit team' s inquiries, and engaged in thorough discussions regarding areas for optimization. The audit team expressed approval of the on-site implementation of our quality management system, while also offering recommendations for improvement—specifically, refining process documentation and strengthening the tracking of supplier performance. The successful completion of this second-stage on-site audit marks a significant milestone in our ISO recertification process.

For international steel buyers, the significance of the second-stage on-site audit lies in confirming that a supplier' s ISO certification is not merely a matter of documentation, but is instead substantiated by authentic operational records and verifiable process controls. We will use this audit as an opportunity to continuously refine the on-site implementation of our quality management system, ensuring that we provide stable and reliable trade services to global buyers—with a particular focus on quality certificate management, traceability accuracy, and the control of non-conforming products.
