Pre-shipment Inspection of ASTM A53 Welded Low-Carbon Steel Pipes

Yangtze Steel Group is nearing completion of a batch of orders for resistance-welded (high-frequency welded/longitudinally welded) low-carbon steel pipes. The products comply with the ASTM A53 standard and are made of low-carbon steel. The specifications include: 219.08 × 8.18 mm, 168.28 × 7.11 mm, 114.3 × 6.02 mm, 73.02 × 5.16 mm, 60.32 × 3.9 mm, 48.26 × 3.68 mm, 42.16 × 3.56 mm, and 33.4 × 3.38 mm, all with a fixed length of 6 meters.

To ensure that the products fully meet customer requirements, company executives accompanied Lydia, the project sales manager, to the partner factory to conduct on-site sampling inspections of this batch of welded pipes prior to shipment.

The inspection focused on the following areas:

Pipe Diameter Measurement: Using high-precision tape measures and calipers, we conduct random multi-point inspections of the outer diameters of steel pipes of various specifications to ensure compliance with order specifications;

Wall Thickness Inspection: Using a vernier caliper, we measure wall thickness at multiple points on the pipe ends and along the pipe body to verify that uniformity and tolerance ranges meet ASTM A53 requirements;

Weld Inspection: Visually and manually inspect the appearance of the longitudinal welds to confirm that they are smooth and free of defects such as cracks or lack of fusion.

Company executives listened to the factory's report on production progress on-site, while Lydia reviewed and recorded the measurement data for key batches. Photographs taken during the inspection accurately documented the measurement process for pipe diameter and wall thickness, as well as a panoramic view of the product storage area.

Following successful on-site acceptance, this batch of ASTM A53 resistance-welded low-carbon steel pipes will proceed to the packaging and shipping stages as scheduled. Yangtze Steel will continue to ensure peace of mind for every buyer through transparent operations and a rigorous approach.
